Today, on March 18, artist and Gnostic priest, Jan Valentin Saether turns 72! We celebrate by sharing one of the articles from the Festschrift published in his honour on his 70th birthday: "On the Legend of Simon Magus – Traces of the Magician and of Gnosis in Jan Valentin Saether's Art" by art historian Hanne Storm Ofteland. "The Muse and the Museum" to be exhibited at SDSU Downtown Gallery
The SDSU Downtown Gallery in San Diego will be displaying an exhibition, "Presence: Selections from the Matthew and Iris Strauss Family Foundation Collection" from November 5, 2015 through January 25, 2016, featuring among other works Jan Valentin Saether's "The Muse and the Museum". The exhibition is organized by Professor Tina Yapelli, director of the SDSU Downtown Gallery, in collaboration with the Matthew and Iris Strauss Family Foundation. Assistance is provided by Marcy
